Really, Monday?

A trip to the train station.
A car wreck in downtown Dallas. Car not driveable.
Almost an hour on the phone with the insurance company BEFORE they dispatch the tow truck.
Another hour wait before the tow truck arrives.
A slightly scary interaction with a crazy homeless guy.
Tow truck arrives -"Oh sorry, we can only transport two people" - this is problematic when you're 30 miles from home, and there's three of you.
No rental cars available until 5pm.
An $80 cab ride later......

The good news is, were all ok.
Not sure what the car is going to cost us yet, or how long that's going to take, but we have another to drive in the meantime.

The sad news, this is not how I wanted my daughters last day home to go - she ships to basic training tomorrow morning. :-(

Hope Monday is treating you better than it is me!

  1. 2A Mama,

Think of this as a boost for when she starts boot camp. The D.I. is going to be yelling, sceaming about how she is going to have a bad day.

Her response "Pffff, YESTERDAY was a bad day; Today is an annoyance" :)

Of course, she will learn the forward leaning rest position quickly but it might be worth it :)

of course she might not be as sarcastic as I am

Sorry to hear about the car. It seems to be the season for automobile issues but a wise friend told me long ago "If it can be solved by money, it really isn't too big of a problem".

    1. Thanks for the chuckle, Bob. Much appreciated.

I could definitely see my daughter having an internal struggle with herself about lipping off to a DI, and trying to decide if it would be worth the extra floor pushing. ;) She was a debate kid for three years in HS, and LOVES to argue. Just hope if she did it, it was worth it to her! LOL

Not sure yet what the total damage is on the car, but it was a shock to be reminded that a few months ago we raised our deductible to $1000 when we added on another vehicle, so our monthly premiums would be a bit lower. Ugh.

    1. Thanks, GunDiva. Wish I could say that it's been smooth sailing since then, but alas, it has not been. :( I would like a do over please!

Had to chuckle at Bob's comment and your reply! :)
